WHAT IS OUR DEAL?
Gaming was once something people did on a couch with family or friends, with consoles geared towards a local multiplayer experience, or ‘split-screen’. Now-a-days, very few games are designed with split-screen options. This means gamers are spending more time in front of a screen alone immersing themselves in a virtual world. If you have the money, you can pay subscription fees for a a ‘multi-player’ experience.
We love gaming, and we love gamers.
For us, gaming is about fun, and fun is better shared with others.
This is where the idea for Level-Up gaming came from, a mental and social health perspective.
We have an interest in bringing people who enjoy gaming together. Especially young, socially isolated people. We game hard, but we do it at a physical, real world event.
The events are usually in partnership with a community organisation, so the cost to people who want to attend is usually zero dollars, and sometimes there are snacks – a most important element of gaming.
We supply all the gear including the latest generation gaming consoles, VR headsets (virtual reality), some ‘vintage’ consoles and huge screens to soak it all up. Our gadgets are adaptable and enjoyable for all ages… it’s a safe, inclusive, casual environment for everyone.
HOW IT WORKS:
So far our events have been in partnership with community organisations and aimed at young people. We chat with you about what you want to achieve, come up with a cool plan for the event and agree on a fair price.
We have some promotional stuff we can give you if you want it, we put your event on our website, people RSVP and then we pack up the van.
On the day of the event (unless we can come the day before) we show up, set up and sit back – just kidding, we help out on the night, make sure everything runs smoothly, be the tech guys etc. Then we pack up, eat the left over cold pizza and head home. Simple.
Our events meet many grant funding criteria including social inclusion, mental health, regional and rural communities, crime prevention, youth empowerment, community engagement categories, youth leadership and volunteerism.
If you have an event or funding you think we could participate in, we are happy to discuss meeting your needs. Our events are highly adaptable and there is usually opportunities for young people to be involved in the events.
We are based in Horsham, Victoria, approximately 300kms west of Melbourne. But we have a van, juice in the tank and a great playlist ready to go – so we’re happy to come to you.
Oh! And… We are insured… with loads and loads of wonderful millions – that we will send you when we send you our WWCC’s, Vaccination Certificates and other details.
